A variety of Neurobiology Courseware web sites are available through the
Neuroanatomy Courseware
section of our University of Minnesota Veterinary Anatomy Web Site.
The following recommendations present pertinent Courseware in the
context of students taking CVM 6120 Veterinary Neurobiology.

Show Video Overview (6 min)

Neurobiology Concepts.
Use Neurobiology Concepts Checker to self-assess your knowledge of neurobiology concepts throughout the course (focussing on the forest vs the trees).

Lab-Related.
These web sites complement the printed Lab Manual, providing color images and supplemental additional information:
                              Lab 1: Neurohistology
                              Lab 2: Spinal Cord Anatomy
                              Lab 3: Brain Anatomy Introduction
                              Lab 4: Cranial Nerves
                              Lab 7: Cerebellum
For the other labs, use: Neurobiology Labs Overview

Neurohistology.
Use Neurohistology ATLAS to view images of neurons, glia, CNS, PNS, and meninges.

Developmental Anatomy (Neuro-embryology).
Use Embryology Highlights - Nervous System Development if you wish to hear narrated synposes of nervous system development.

Use the Nervous System section of Developmental Anatomy - Subject Outlines & Knowledge Self-Assessment to evaluate your neuroembryology knowledge.

Brain Transections.
Use Canine Brain Transections to study internal brain anatomy. Use Levels to locate sections rostro-caudally; use Atlas to identify internal brain structures. Initially you may want to view Canine Brain MRI Atlas which has a reduced subset of brain structures.

Gross Brain.
Use Brain Gross Anatomy to view labeled images of intact and dissected brains from a variety of perspectives. Also, an Atlas/Quiz program featuring the sheep brain is available and can be downloaded (Link to Sheep Brain Atlas/Quiz).
