Medial view of a cat pelvic limb showing the medial saphenous vein (1). The vein is formed by the union of cranial (2) and caudal (3) branches. The medial saphenous vein is a common site for venipuncture in the cat. The vein is accompanied by the saphenous artery and saphenous nerve (which are not very evident in this image).
