MRI Brain Atlas

About...

This web app Atlas is intended for veterinary students and radiologists seeking quick access to canine brain anatomy through a mobile device. Via a toggle button, either MRI images or approximately comparable Brain Transection images may be viewed with or without labels.

Navigation & Labels. The home page presents two menus for locating MRI images per transection level. In the MRI Gallery Menu, tap a reduced image to view a particular transection level. In the Levels List Menu, tap a level button to view a particular transection level.

At the level of a transection image, rostral/caudal buttons allow navigation through the available transection levels. Anatomy labels per image can be toggled on/off by tapping either the image or the Show/Hide button located above the image. Toggle between MRI and Brain Transection images via the Show Transections button located at the bottom below the level title.

The MRI images are Photoshop edited, proton-density-weighted, transverse section views of a Beagle dog brain. All images are taken from: Canine Brain MRI Atlas (http://vanat.cvm.umn.edu/mriBrainAtlas/), a web site that requires a browser running the Adobe Flash Player plug-in.
