Purpose:
      Horse Teeth & Age 2.0 is independent study courseware that offers instuction about estimating ages of horses based on conditions of their teeth. Horse Teeth & Age is a HyperCard stand-alone appication (Mac platform). The courseware was designed for first-year veterinary students studying Gross Anatomy.

Features:
      Horse Teeth & Age 2.0 features the following sections:

Guide to Age Estimation. . . provides practice in judging the age of a horse by examining its teeth.

Begin by selecting an equine subject or dental specimen to age (the program provides illustrations of teeth from 15 different age horses from which you may choose a specimen). Follow the Guide to Age Estimation, answering questions on each screen until you finally arrive at an age estimate that corresponds to your specimen.

Quiz. . . allows you to test your skill at age estimation based on various illustrations of teeth

Summary Chart. . . presents an overview of equine dental changes associated with age

Glossary. . . defines and illustrates terms related to equine teeth

Clicking hot (outlined) terms in Guide to Age Estimation evokes corresponding definitions screens from the Glossary.

Platform Requirements:

      Horse Teeth & Age 2.0 is a HyperCard stand-alone application. Minimal requirements are a Macintosh computer with a 9-in. black & white screen and 2 MB of RAM available to run the application. Disc size is 2.3 MB.

Download Instructions:

      A Macintosh computer is required to run Horse Teeth & Age 2.0. When you click "Download Now" (below), a 1.2 MB compressed, self-extracting, binary file "Horse Teeth & Age 2.0.sea" will be transmitted to the location on your hard disk where your browser downloads files. Double-click the downloaded file icon to extract a 2.3 MB file "Horse Teeth & Age 2.0" (your browser may extract this file automatically). Double-click "Horse Teeth & Age 2.0" to view the courseware. (You can trash "Horse Teeth & Age 2.0.sea" to conserve disk space.) Download Now
